My name is Laura Pichardo, and I am honored to be running to represent North Carolina Senate District 23, serving the people of Caswell, Person, and Orange Counties.

I believe government should work for the people—not the other way around. Families deserve to keep more of what they earn, businesses deserve an environment where they can grow, and every community deserves access to quality healthcare, excellent schools, and safe neighborhoods.

As an Accounts Payable Business Analyst with experience in both corporate America and small business, I have spent my career solving financial problems, improving efficiency, and ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer and business dollars. Those same skills are needed in Raleigh as North Carolina faces rising costs, rapid growth, and increasing demands on state resources.

I am running because our district deserves practical, fiscally responsible leadership that delivers results instead of political rhetoric.

My priorities include:

• Strengthening rural and urban healthcare by improving access to physicians, mental health services, and specialty care while supporting our local hospitals and healthcare providers.
• Keeping North Carolina affordable by protecting homeowners from excessive property taxes, supporting balanced budgets, and reducing unnecessary government spending.
• Growing our economy by supporting agriculture, manufacturing, small businesses, workforce development, and infrastructure that attracts good-paying jobs.
• Supporting public safety by ensuring law enforcement officers have the resources they need to protect our communities.
• Expanding broadband and infrastructure so every family, student, and business has access to the tools needed to compete in today's economy.
• Investing in education by supporting teachers, strengthening career and technical education, and preparing students for successful careers without unnecessary bureaucracy.

My commitment to public service began long before this campaign. In 2020, I advocated for expanding high-speed internet access throughout Caswell County because I believed every family deserved reliable connectivity for work, education, and healthcare. From 2022 through 2026, I proudly served as Treasurer of the Caswell County Republican Party, working to strengthen our local organization while building relationships across our communities.

I am committed to listening to the people I represent, making thoughtful decisions, and always putting the interests of District 23 first. Whether you live in a rural farming community, a growing town, or a suburban neighborhood, you deserve a senator who is accessible, accountable, and focused on delivering real solutions.
